West Dundee Downtown Design Program

Camiros, Ltd. assisted the Village of West Dundee in preparing a comprehensive design program for the enhancement of the downtown area. This work was an outgrowth of an earlier study that examined the functional and operational needs of the downtown. The design program established an overall concept for the desired appearance and character of the downtown, which sought to build upon the quaint and authentic charm of this small town by the Fox River. The illustrative plans of that streetscape included form, materials and costs, as well as architectural facade enhancement.

The project was prompted by IDOT plans to reconstruct Main Street (Route 72), allowing the village to use some state funds to construct the streetscape design. Camiros, Ltd. prepared full construction plans/contract documents to bid the streetscape work in coordination with IDOT's road reconstruction project.
