Evanston Zoning Ordinance Revision

In this assignment, Camiros, Ltd., in association with attorney Brian Blaesser, completely redrafted and restructured the zoning ordinance for the City of Evanston. The new ordinance implemented aspects of the city's comprehensive and preservation plans, cured a number of administrative problems and restructured districts to reflect both today's development realities and the policies of the city. A key aspect of this update was the formulation of zoning policy so that the city and interested parties were fully aware of, and in agreement with, the rules to be used when structuring zoning districts within the city. An extensive public participation program was also formulated to facilitate the ordinance update and gain public acceptance.
